Benevolence – Sick, Shut-ins, & Bereavement

The ladies at Eastside prepare food on a regular basis for our members and their families that have fallen ill, are having surgical procedures, have suffered a loss of a family member, or are one of our elderly shut-ins.

Card Ministry

Each week, members at Eastside write note on cards for various occasions. We reach out to those we know who are sick, shut-in, having surgery, have been in an accident, missed services, for encouragement, birthdays, anniversaries, or just to say thank you for the things you do for the Lord. These cards are sorted by name/address, and those that go to the same location are put together in one envelope and mailed out to the recipients. We mail out to our own members and to family, friends, coworkers, etc. of members who have announced a need in their behalf.

Clothing, Food, Other & Supplies

The members at Eastside collect needed items for the children’s home in the past. However, the pick-up for that home began to have issues getting to us to collect these items. We are currently looking for another recipient for this work.

Food Pantry

The members at Eastside collect canned food and staple pantry items for needy families in our community for when the need arises.
